Hey, I'm Becky Joy!

workmanship / work of art
I am an artist / photographer living in the Pacific Northwest. I am passionate about art because I believe that each one of us is a work of art. We are the Creator's workmanship, and we reveal his handiwork. As creation, created by a Creator, I have a deep need to create. To design. To make. To work.
Seeking after light, I believe, is essential to my work, and I love the way light plays a role in every image, reflecting off surfaces, bringing loveliness to the most ordinary things. Sometimes we must seek light within the shadows, but it is that “sought out light” which inspires me the most.
Telling people's narratives and helping others see beauty are two of my biggest passions as an artist. I find so much beauty in storytelling, in the candid and often unobserved moments of life. Or, as Henri Cartier-Bresson calls them, “the decisive moments.” I desire to capture those small, sincere moments. No matter what, I want to leave the world a more beautiful place than when I found it.
If I have made you see or feel something that you might not have otherwise, and if I have made you see beauty in a single “decisive moment”, then I have succeeded.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life."
